Less is Less and More is More

My work celebrates ornament. Using the behaviour of candles to challenge the boundary between decoration and utility, the object forces the user to tangibly prioritize the former over the latter. As we leave the candle unlit to preserve its aesthetic role, we confront and celebrate the sculptural nature of objects that disguise as functional.
